Arthur van Langenberg, MBE (1909-1970) was an artist, set designer and actor. Hailing from a prominent Dutch Burgher family, van Langenberg's father was the 5th Solicitor General of Ceylon. After graduating from university in London, van Langenberg joined the Colombo Port Commission, where he rose to become the Secretary. A talented artist, van Langenberg worked closely with the 43 Group and was a founder member of the Art Center Club where he was involved in acting, directing and stage design. He was made a Member of the British Empire in 1955.
