Florian Breuer (1916-1994) was a German artist. Born in Berlin, he studied at the Technical Training School and at the Academy of Fine Arts in Berlin and Dresden from 1934 -1937 and 1941-1945. In the 1950s he began to travel extensively in the Mediterranean, India, and East Asia and produced more than 1,200 watercolors of his travels. Although Breuer held more than 20 exhibitions all over the world, very little is known about him and his work is largely forgotten. Breuer visited Ceylon in 1968.
