Andrew Macara (born 1944) is an English artist. Although Macara studied art for a short period at the St. Ives School of Painting, he considers himself a self taught artist. Macara has a very distinctive style and was elected a member of the Royal Society of British Artists in 1981 and has exhibited regularly with them. His native Derbyshire continues to feature in many paintings but he also travels extensively gathering images for paintings from around the world. Another of his favorite subjects is the British seaside. A recipient of many awards, Macara’s contemporary paintings are much sought after and have proved to be good investments. Macara visited Sri Lanka in the 1990s.
